We thought this would be a great way to start the new year. Ian got his big boy bed today.

I went and bought it at IKEA yesterday, but, to my disappointment, I found that I grabbed the wrong color. This was after waiting a week for them to get the mattress in stock. hahahhaa… Oh well. I went right when they opened today and traded it for the right color and brought it home.

My buddy is such a helper too. Check out this picture of Ian helping Daddy put it together.

So, once it was all together, it was nap time. That didn’t work too well. Ian thought it was more of a play time and decided to play trains, read a book, even get my old Indian Guides drum I made as a boy up on his bed and play the drum, instead of sleeping. After about three hours of attempting to get him to nap, we let him skip the nap.

Then it was time to redo his room. We moved around furniture, even put up his space posters on the wall. I’m not honestly sure who was more excited to redo his room, Ian or Daddy.

We had the best day today…

Ian, Dawn and I woke up, had a nice breakfast, and drove to 3rd St. Promenade in Santa Monica for lunch at Johnny’s Pizza. (if you haven’t been there yet, seriously, make every effort to get there for a cheese pizza… some of the best pizza in the world)

Ian was really into the pizza!

Then we walked around and just had a good time shopping. Need to buy Ian something from Kid Robot soon though. hehe..

Little man and I just got back from getting his haircut. Someday he’ll not have such a fit when we take him, oh well,,, at least his hair looks nice.

Ian likes to try to use Daddy’s Powerbook

So last weekend the family came over so we could enjoy Christmas together. It was a really good time, and of course, Ian made out like a bandit. Aunt Bobbie, Uncle Greg, and cousins Barbara, Brett, and Brian got him an awesome Arizona Wildcats outfit and hat. We missed having them there, but wanted to share the experience through a video.

For a while now, Ian has enjoyed dancing to our music. Yesterday he was going for it and we were able to get him on camera. Then, I had fun learning iMovie and created a little clip for everyone to see.

Ian is quite the dancer.
